Update: Endorsement Watch: George H.W. Bush (41) plans to endorse McCain today

Former President Bush endorsed John McCain today as reports indicated. He countered the criticism to McCain’s serving record as conservative by saying the McCain was “a remarkable patriot.”  He added that the Arizona senator has “a sound conservative record but not above reaching out to the other side.” This endorsement following Romney’s, Jeb Bushess, as well as many other serving Republicans sends a strong message that the Party is content with McCain and are working to unite behind him. The ball is fully in McCain’s court and after Huckabee soon drops out, McCain will be running two campaigns, once against Hillary or Obama, and a second one against his past record in trying to unite the Party behind him.

Former President Bush is said to endorse John McCain at an event today. This will basically unite the family behind McCain. Jeb Bush endorsed McCain after the results of Super Tuesday and President Bush gave everything but an endorsement to his one time rival.

Of course none of this will seem to have an effect on Mike Huckabee who has been competing against McCain in Wisconsin. He still says that he will continue to offer a choice to conservatives until McCain secures the nomination by securing delegate count for the nomination.
