Green: The New Red, White, and Blue?
For just the second time in more than eight decades, TIME magazine abandoned its traditional red border used on its cover. The occasion? Not for our heroes winning the war in Iraq, a political superstar, or for Time’s Person of the Year, but rather to push global warming alarmism and equate the “war on global warming” to World War II.
The April 21 issue of TIME took the famous photograph of World War II Marines raising the American flag on Iwo Jima and replaced the flag with a falling tree. The article, How to Win the War on Global Warming, says the “war” on global warming is a “similarly momentous challenge” to our World Wars, the Great Depression, putting a man on the moon, the intercontinental railroad and beating polio. TIME concludes by saying “going green” is the new red, white and blue. In essence, according to TIME green extremism is the height of patriotism.

Not only is Time selling out to the Cult of Global Warming, but they are desecrating a picture that represents the one of the greatest triumphs in American history. To even compare this so called global warming to the losses incurred by the Marines on Iwo Jima is nothing short of insidious. Now, I know there will be those myopic little socialists who will say, oh you are overreacting and there is nothing wrong with this you fascist pig. Why not post a picture of Che, Mao, or Chomsky hanging from a tree and see what their reaction might be. You would think the world was coming to an end. Just another instance to chalk up to their long list of on going hypocrisy.
P.S. Good to see another Louisiana guy pontificating some conservative thought on the Net. If you could, in the near future, maybe post an article or two about Jindal. I am half a world away and it is hard to come upon any local information on his progress. I hope he is doing great things.

Time magazine just keeps going downhill. I can remember when it used to have journalistic integrity & judgement - not anymore. Haven’t bought one of their liberal propaganda pieces in years.
Global Warming? Been going on for tens of thousands of years. So why are ‘we’ the cause of it now?
Desecration of the Iwo Jima memorial? Only elitist Time magazine would do this without consideration. My uncle was there in 1945; This Vietnam Marine vet resents casual desecration of such a memorial for liberal motives to force central control of the economy.
Time should be ashamed.
