Fred Thompson Speaks
I made it home from work early enough tonight specifically to watch the Fred Thompson interview on Hannity and Colmes. Though I had been looking forward to this interview all week, I had no expectations. After all, what can he say? The one point he made, which didn’t get much attention, was his willingness and commitment to keep fighting for our country. Even though he thought being the president would allow him to make a difference, he stated he would find a way in private life. Fred also frowned upon the notion of becoming vice-president because that position wouldn’t allow him the opportunity to make changes he thinks this country needs. I was not disappointed by what Fred had said only because of what he has already done. Fred Thompson has stirred many people to stand up for what makes this country great, including myself. So much that I am not deterred in my convictions by McCain winning the nomination. But I think that because Fred dropped out of the race when he did, it made me realize that this fight won’t be easy. This only encouraged me more to become involved at all levels of government, not just the presidential election. I’m just one person echoing what I hear so many others believe.
