Fred Thompson hits the trail for McCain

Fred Thompson is reentering the political arena when he teams up with McCain in North Carolina next week. This will be Thompson’s first public appearance, in a political capacity, and will be the first time Thompson has publicly campaigned for McCain. Romney and Huckabee both have helped McCain raise money and meet voters.  Thompson’s platform runs in sharp contrast with McCain’s in some areas so it will be interesting to see what key issues are addressed during their tour together. This will not be any indication of VP buzz as Fred effectively ruled out the option.
