Edwards’ endorsement mattered

Shortly after receiving John Edwards’ endorsement, Obama gained 19 delegates from Edwards previous support. Consequently, Senator Obama is now just 135 delegates from the magic number. Most importantly, however, is Edwards solid, if small, support is something Obama fully needs.
The Edwards’ impact may be the one thing that could swing many white voters, especially rural ones in some areas, to support Obama. Will it completely close the gap? — not hardly but it will go a great deal into the psychology of the general mood among Democrat supporters.
