Tancredo isn’t satisfied with existing field on illegal immigration

GOP Rep. Tom Tancredo (Colorado) made illegal immigration the center piece of his campaign. The polls of 2007 showed that if a credible candidate ran on a platform of securing the borders and stopping illegal immigration, then that person would be swept into office. Of course, that is before PR teams and mass media coverage of the presidential election changed the minds of so many. My proof? Well look who is the GOP nominee.

Tancredo doesn’t trust Obama, Clinton or McCain to secure the borders once one of them enter the oval office.

“Nobody’s going to enter the White House in January of ‘09 who is committed to securing the border and ending the disaster of illegal immigration,” said Mr. Tancredo, who wears the vest when he feels insecure about the enemies he has made over the years while touting his anti-illegals stance.”Therefore, the next stage in the battle is going to be in the states,” he said.

Tancredo said he would step down and not seek another term in Congress. It’s expected that he will join other action groups, by either creating his own or joining the existing groups. He also stated that he isn’t sure that he will vote GOP in November.

“Maybe I’ll write me in - who knows?” he said. “When I’m in the voting booth, I’m going to just be tussling with this in my own heart.”
