Despite best efforts, Gov Jindal is leading the VP ticket

The Crown Prince of Louisiana, the boy Governor, the conservative crusader, the policy nerd with a giant personality perfectly suited for big time politics, just can’t shake this VP talk. After he emphatically states that more work is to be done in Louisiana and that he may need two terms to make the changes the state so desperately needs, the more his stock rises among conservatives. They won’t let him rest. Many are almost demanding he fill the vacuum that McCain surely carries. That may be why he will have no other choice but to finally utter the words, “I humbly accept Mr. McCain’s offer to be his running mate as Vice President of the United States of America and to help lead our country in a new direction.”

In a New York Times article

“He has everything McCain is lacking,” said State Representative John LaBruzzo, a Republican, speaking of Mr. Jindal. “He’s seen as a true conservative, which McCain is seen as less than.”

Gov. Jindal has had early success and has his own conservative revolution currently underway. He has found many friendly legislators (in Democrats too) that believe in his vision and largely buy into his philosophy.

The newly conservative tone of state government is seeping through a host of successful bills — on school vouchers, creationism, stem-cell restrictions and tax and spending cuts — and it is adding to the speculative frenzy here surrounding Mr. Jindal as a potential vice-presidential choice for Senator John McCain.

Politicians here say they are certain that Mr. Jindal would balance a McCain ticket, and not just because he is an Indian-American. The Christian right has a new champion in Mr. Jindal, a serious Catholic who has said that “in my faith, you give 100 percent of yourself to God.”

Jindal will cause fainting spells among liberals and ‘rebel’ yells among conservatives when he decides to enter upon the big stages with remarks like this. “There’s no scientific theory that explains how you create organic life out of inorganic matter.” Now you can see what so many believe in this guy. What’s more, he is a strong supporter of choice…not that choice. Choice as in school voucher programs in the states. A hot-button issue that he seems fearless in support of.

Gov Jindal has made it know that he was going to lead a new direction and change the way government is ran in Louisiana. He has already cut many projects of wasteful spending, and his friendly legislators are working towards Jindal in coming up with ways to decrease the state income tax.

So there we have it,

1. God
2. less taxes
3. less government
4. a true core-conservative
5. would make Jindal the only Republican in the race

Jindal has made many in the state proud of Republican rule. Strangely proud of the state’s highest position. Speaking from someone who grew up in the state, that is a strange anomaly indeed. He set his goals, laid out his policy, established his agenda but more than that, he has the talents needed to articulate it, the ability to inspire and the focused vision of a leader.

I’m sorry to say for Louisiana, but Bobby Jindal may have no other choice but to accept the very likely offer.

  1. The GOP needs Jindal, either now in ‘08 or later in 2012. Either way, the party has been leaderless long enough. He seems to have the vision and talents to bring the GOP back to it’s true form.

  2. I like him! I think it would be wonderful for him to be VP to MacCain. I would vote for them in Nov.2008.
He is very well spoken and has the same belief as my family.
    I really hope this happens.
