Bob Barr causing McCain heartburn in some states
Libertarian Presidential nominee and former GOP lawmaker, Bob Barr, may make many GOP states winnable for Obama. Barr is expected to do decent as third-party candidates go but decent may be good enough. If he can take a winnable chunk from McCain then Obama will be competitive especially with states that have a sizable black population.
Polls in Georgia and North Carolina over the past two weeks show Mr. Barr winning 8 percent and 6 percent, respectively, of the presidential vote. That would help keep presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama within striking distance of Mr. McCain in those states, which together account for more electoral votes than Florida, Pennsylvania or Ohio.
Of course this could all be from initial reaction of having another choice for conservatives. As the general election picks up, people’s minds could change and see McCain as the best chance to beat the liberal Obama. Chances are, Barr will prove to pull the normal percentage of votes customary to third-party bids usually failing to receive even 1% of the total vote.

You’re not the first to recommend her as VP. But Alaska? Would it benefit his ticket? Palin would ba plan B in my opinion. Personally, I see Pawlenty leading the ticket right now. Jindal would be wonderful but I can’t see him leaving his post so soon. Besides, his time is coming.
