Romney still working hard for the GOP and McCain

Some see Romney as taking advantage of the open race for the VP, others see it as being sporty and loyal to his party. Either way, Romney is championing hard for McCain and pushing his policies while doing so.

In an interview last week, Romney dismissed the idea that he was campaigning for vice president, saying he was merely trying to do everything he can to boost his party. It would have been “selfish” for him to “go home and sit by the pool all day,” he said, when thousands of supporters had worked so hard on his campaign. He also said his new political action committee is not meant to be a short-lived mechanism for funding his travels, but rather a permanent organization devoted to promoting the conservative causes he believes in. He has no plans to return to the private sector; he is, he said, in public life to stay.

  1. A class act, I think. I suppose if he chooses to run in 2012 - which he most likely will — he’ll start out as the front runner.I would certainly view him in a different light than I did.

  2. It is good to see the Republican Party come together to help Senator McCain get elected. I am a Huckabee supporter, just got back from the NC convention. I can say that Mike Huckabee did Senator McCain proud speaking for him at that event!! The standing ovation he received went on and on! I am glad to see Governor Romney is also supporting McCain! This is the time to unite the party, put our petty differences aside and do what is best for the country.
