Georgia voters view Obama “unfavorably”
Georgia has recently surfaced on the pundit radars as being an ‘open’ state. They argue that Obama’s appeal and undeniable support among the black population in the state, plus the potential Bob Barr factor, has put the state in jeopardy for McCain. A perfect storm, so to speak, was rising out of the Southern state that would give Obama an unlikely victory.
Not so fast. According to a Rasmussen poll more than half of Georgia voters view Obama unfavorably. Also, the survey showed that McCain enjoys a sizable lead over Obama — with 51 percent compared to 41 percent for Obama. There does exist that small segment who have chosen to support Barr. It doesn’t appear to be cutting into McCain’s support substantially, and at any rate, giving Obama some sort of leverage either.
The state is still safely GOP.

I’ve seen polls in the state that show Obama’s support as little as 35%. I know in the northern part of the state, he isn’t to well received.
