When it rains it poors — Obama picked the wrong time for a vacation

Sliding poll numbers, the energy debate, getting defined and now a truly East West showdown has erupted between Russian and Georgia. Already many Americans doubt Obama’s foreign policy experience and a overwhelming amount think McCain would be a better Commander in Chief. So it can’t help matters or help Obama’s presidential image when he is on vacation in Hawaii. This could be a risky move that may tilt the race to McCain for the first time. I’m saying this, expect the polls to change next week.

McCain will take full advantage of his absence by taking on the presidential-in-waiting duties. McCain’s campaign released three attack ads, along with the assistance of the the Republican National Committee when they released “Barack Obama’s Hawaii Trade Guide,” a travel plan with a roadmap to key sites on the island, and of course a filling station with high gasoline prices.

Barack Obama set out for what’s intended to be a minimalist Hawaiian holiday: eight days away from television cameras and with family and friends.

If he pulls it off, he’ll be one of the luckier ones.

    Yeah I believe the campaign was getting to him. His fortunes turned a little after his “presidential tour”. I think he expected to have it wrapped up when he got back. Instead he found the American people kind of put off and fiesty McCain hitting him everyday. Now, a little bad luck has come in his way despite the media coddling. I agree with you, I think we’ll see McCain and Obama evening out a bit and maybe even a McCain lead. I don’t know about next week though.

    Obama is an empty suit. From the day he was sworn in to the Senate to the date he declared his run for the presidency, is only 145 days on the job. He has literally no experience. (Not figuratively, literally!) He’s not qualified to run a Dairy Queen.

    Proven Obama has most liberal voting record in the U.S. Senate. Obama is to the left of Ted Kennedy, Hillary Clinton, Russ Feingold, Pat Leahy and Barbara Boxer. That’s extremely difficult to do. Obama is a textbook big-government, tax-and-spend liberal. He plans to raise income tax rates, capital gains tax rates, Social Security taxes (by virtue of eliminating the cap), dividend taxes, inheritance taxes, and introduce a slew of new taxes. Please spare me the hope and the change bull, and the Bush’s third term, McSame etc… Please just tell American voters what qualifies Barack Obama to run this country. Please just give me one single solid qualification. And race does not qualify!! That would be one more than anyone including cable media has provided to date.     Obama desperately needs voters to forget hes the son of a Muslim father who served an incredibly brutal and corrupt Kenyan government; to forget he attended a madrassa in Indonesia and practiced Islam; forget that he campaigned in Kenya on behalf of Raila Odinga, who relied upon chaos, corruption, and violence in his campaign; numerous associations with radical Muslims; forget the photographs of Obama in traditional Muslim clothes, hanging with Muslim radicals such as Mazen Asbahi and anti-Semite Rashid Khalidi.

    The mainstream media has frankly put the security of our great country at risk with an Obama coronation media like CNN & MSNBC is the only way Obama managed to steal the Dem nom. It’s extremely concerning that so many Americans could care less about who their candidate really is?? simply amazing and frankly scarey.

    I don’t think that it looks very well when someone who wants to be the US commander in chief ands foreign policy dispatche is relaxing now in Hawaii when we’re loooking at a very serious crisis - the Georgia affair - which can bloom in who knows what an awful thing. Narcissistic, incompetent, Glibama’s a dangerous person. I never liked the man - but if I were an Obamaton, I’d give this situation a serious consideration.

    I’m pretty sure it shows the confidence he has in his campaign and its staff. Also, a recent poll just showed that nearly half of Americans have been hearing too much about him lately. Well, with the olympics going on, and Americans’ last few weeks of summer to enjoy, no one’s paying enough attention right now to really be making any decisions anyway, so it’s a great time to take a week off…

    If they can beat Hillary Clinton, they can beat 72 year old, mumbly, fumbly John McCain.
