Convention worked like a charm for the GOP

According to the polls most didn’t buy into the DNC message. Still, the overwhelming attitude for change in this country is still boiling but it looks like the majority may be looking for that change in a McCain/Palin ticket. Now that the RNC is over, it’s obvious that the message resonated…at least initially.

There’s still plenty of ballgame left, though, but it is shaping up to be a good one.

WASHINGTON — John McCain and the GOP have seen a significant boost in the USA TODAY/Gallup Poll from the Republican convention: a rising tide that has turned around the contest with Democrat Barack Obama, energized party loyalists and improved prospects for its congressional candidates.

“Clearly the combination of these two candidates at the top of the ticket has done something to this race,” spokesman Brian Rogers says. “We think it’s changed the equation a little bit. Whether or not that leads to a sustained bounce out of the convention, I guess, is to be seen.”
